Statement on Attempted Trump Assassination

As 1 of 3 U.S. Senate candidates on the November ballot
in Utah, and as the only Independent, this is my public statement regarding the
attempted Trump assassination on July 13, 2024:
“I’m thankful that President Trump’s life was spared
today. God governs in the affairs of men.
I’m saddened that others were injured and killed. I pray
for comfort for those mourning and for healing for those injured.
We must root out the Gadiantons from us and our
government!
I call on the Biden administration to urgently grant the
Trump security team’s reported requests of the past several weeks for additional
resources necessary to provide adequate security at presidential campaign
events.
Additionally, the secret service protection requests for
Independent Presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. should be approved and
implemented immediately!
We cannot play politics with the security of Presidential
candidates and with the lives of those citizens who are participating in our
democratic processes by attending presidential candidate events.
The loss of life today was needless.
When the time is right, congress needs to fully
investigate this presidential candidate and former U.S. President assassination
attempt!”
